Obverse Description
The obverse shows an American bald eagle in mid-flight, wings extended, grasping both an olive branch and arrows, echoing the iconography of the Great Seal of the United States. Above the eagle is the motto “PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH,” widely used during the Cold War era by national-security organizations, including the American Security Council.
Reverse Description
The reverse features an eagle standing atop a globe centered on North America. A banner across the globe reads “AMERICAN SECURITY COUNCIL.” This design was used by the ASC in their promotional and fundraising medals. The round is struck in MACO’s signature sharp-relief style with frosted devices and a smooth field.
