Obverse Description

The obverse features a fully spread eagle perched on a branch, rendered in a robust sculptural style reminiscent of 1930’s–1950’s federal insignia art. The eagle’s wings fill the circular field with wide, pronounced feathers. Below the branch is the date 1973, accompanied by the hallmark SMI©. The backdrop is clean and concave, emphasizing the raised relief of the bird.

This design is exclusive to SMI and appears on no other private mint’s host rounds.

Reverse Description

The reverse depicts a second eagle in flight, talons extended, clutching two interlocking globes representing the Western and Eastern hemispheres. A ring of stars arcs around the rim, reinforcing the patriotic theme.

Flanking the eagle are inscriptions:
• .999 FINE (left)
• ONE TROY OZ. (right)

A banner encircling the base reads:
SILVER METALS INTERNATIONAL

The sculptural design and typography are consistent with Silver Metals International’s early 1970s output.
