Primary Logo Style Notes
(Observed across historical and modern branding)
Early logos used U.S. Air Force-style serif lettering, reflecting its origin at the Air Force Academy.
Later versions incorporated a stylized “A” shield motif.
Current branding uses a clean sans-serif font with a three-bar flag-stripe icon, typically in blue and white.
Modern logo follows sister-bank branding used by Armed Forces Bank (same parent corporation).

Short History

Academy Bank began in 1966 as Air Academy National Bank, created specifically to serve cadets, officers, and civilian staff at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. Over time, the bank expanded beyond military banking, adopted the name Academy Bank, National Association in 2005, and grew into a regional institution across multiple states.

Through acquisitions in Arizona, Florida, Kansas, and Missouri, the bank transitioned from a single-community military institution into a multi-state commercial bank. In 2017 it relocated its main office to Kansas City, where it remains headquartered today.
